Hello, and welcome to my little digital notebook. My name is Briar and I made this site to have a place to collect my thoughts on the books/movies that I enjoy, as well as share some of my creative projects like my art and writing and occasionally share a recipe or two in my cookbook. This website is designed for and best veiwed on a 1920x1080 monitor, but as I learn more about code I hope to edit it to make it accomodate more screen sizes (but likely never for mobile).

Please explore through the nav on the left for about me, my drawings, book reviews, movie reviews, and some other things (more coming!)

This site is still a work in progress so there's some content I'm working on behind the scenes that isn't ready to be linked in the nav bar, but I feel like all personal sites are always under permanent construction, that's the beauty of them really.

2/9/2025 New, more legible navigation style and some other small tweaks
23/8/2025 Added a reviews for Three Wishes for Cinderella, 1973 and Excalibur, 1981 under movies
07/08/2025 Re-writing page blurbs, updating CSS, added a 'currently reading' section on this page, swapped notebook background because the lined pages affected readability.
Most importantly: linked the writing page
22/5/2025 SO many adjustments to code under the hood, fixed CSS of whole site in prep for improved gallery layout + future pages
21/5/2025 Improved navigation coding to (hopefully) work on more screen sizes + added hovertext for link names
20/5/2025 Added review of A Tale for the Time Being under books, worked on hidden writing page (coming soon!), updated home and about pages
